Friday afternoon, after an especially unruly day of teaching, Jesús Martinez Garcia, Calc II professor, knew he needed a new way to keep his class time sacred. He gave a list of rules inspired by the set given from his father to Mo Sisson, a student in his 11:00 a.m. section. The following is a list of these 10 rules or “commandments”:
The 10 Commandments of Jesús
- Thou shalt put no other classes before mine
- Thou shalt not take the exam in vain
- Honor thy indefinite integral by adding a constant
- Thou shalt not turn in homework while I am teaching
- Thou shalt not pack-up and leave until I have finished speaking, regardless of how long I go over
- Thou shalt not divide by zero
- Thou shalt call me Jesús, not Jesus
- Thou shalt not converse while I am speaking
- Thou shalt not take snaps of me during class
- Remember the curve and keep it holy
